Ready to put away your winter clothes?

Get excited because summer 2020 is right on the corner, and to get you inspired, we are going to discuss some of the latest colour and print trends for this summer. With the end of the winter season in Canada, people start to make plans for summertime and to choosing the right, and on-trend beachwear style is very important for some of them. This post is going to help you to have an idea of what are the colour and print trends that are standing out on runways around the world.

With the approach of summer, the curiosity about which swimwear trends are going to take over the beaches, lakes and swimming pools is inevitable. Due to changes in consumer behaviour and perception regarding the fashion market, as well as the growth in preferences for more sustainable colours, which have less impact on the environment. According to experts from Coloro and WSGN ((World’s Global Style Network) the 5 key colours chosen for this season are the ones with more transparency like, for example, Neon Mint, Purist Blue, Cassis, Cantaloupe and Mellow Yellow. • Neon mint was the first colour chosen by (World’s Global Style Network) to represent the start of this new decade. The popularity of this colour has been driven by science and technology. 2020 promises to be a futuristic year where for the first time, we will see an AI Olympic Games. The softness of this colour is perfect for people who like to wear discrete pieces and still look elegant.
  •  Purist Blue is a soft version of blue, which is loved by people that like blue but do not want to appear exaggerated. As a passive colour, blue is well known as the colour that represents peace, meditation, and deep stability. It is also a perfect combination for mixes and matches like, for example, with the white colour.
  •  Cassis is a variation of pink and purple with a natural and soothing hue. For pink lovers, this variation is perfect, because it’s soft and elegant. I personally love this colour and think that it is one of those colours that go well with any look.
  • Cantaloupe is another inspirational colour picked for 2020. It has a mixture of the soft bright tone of orange and light shades of red and mellow Yellow. For those who like vibrant colours, this can be a good option. Besides that, it matches people with brown skin; this colour helps to give a spotlight.
  •  Mellow Yellow is a colour associated with happiness, fun and adventure. It comes from a mix of yellow and orange. It is also an excellent option to make some incredible combinations with lighter colours like, for example, white.

Now, let’s talk about prints.

The trends coming from runways around the world show that the chosen ones are floral, polka dots and animal prints. These prints, to be honest, have never really left the runways, they are that kind of trend that comes and goes, but still very relevant.

  • Floral prints have been around for a long time and still keep their place among the latest trends. This year we can see some of the variations like, for example, small, large and tropical florals. South America beachwear from countries like Brazil, for instance, love these prints, and they are always creating stunning styles with them.
  • Another trend that usually never goes away is polka dots. They can be found in a variety of different colours. Polka dots are an old trend that can be observed since the 20s and still very used in present times.
  • Animal prints are another example of a trend that still plays an essential role in our fashion choices. This trend is a little controversial because a lot of animal defenders don’t like it because, in some factories, they use legitimate animal leather. The most commonly available options for this print are the leopard, zebra, snake, jaguar and tiger.

As we can see, 2020 looks like a promising year for swimwear trends with a variety of simplistic colours and elegant prints. No matter the age, body type and style, you will always find something that fits your preferences. So, don’t waste your time and try to find your best beach outfit for this summer!
